The Nepalese industry has set an example for the world to emulate by committing to purchase products from entrepreneurs, who have set up units under the governments self employment scheme.
A few garment and carpet manufacturing companies have come forward in this noble initiative to help their brethren. This was revealed by the Joint Secretary in the Finance Ministry, Mr Shreshta.
The carpet manufacturing industry has called upon entrepreneurs to set up industries to process raw materials required by the carpet industry, which they have committed to purchase at remunerative prices.
According to the original plan, cooperatives were to be set up in over 4,000 villages to purchase products under the scheme to which the government has committed Rs 5 billion, but the entry of private sector, the scheme has received a big boost.
