US retail industry seems to ride the tide towards a balanced growth displaying the optimistic smile of retailers. For all those, who defied a downturn in sales, their margin has increased during February 2009.
There was a 13% increase in the sales figures of February. American eagle outfitters posted a 1% increase in sales comparatively over the corresponding time of the previous year. Revenue of Ross stores was better than expected.
Kohl's Corporation sales rose to 3.6% in February, comparatively over the previous year. Total US same store sales company's sales were also down by 12%.
Nordstrom saw a 10% fall and Bon-T stores sales fell by 7.8%. Department store retailer Macy”s sales were down by 9.3% from the last year.
Saks Incorporated blamed a weakness in merchandise categories' especially in the women's. For the four weeks of February, sales of JCPenny Company's figures dropped by 8.8%.
