Forzani to provide apparel products to Soccer families
Apr '09
The Canadian Soccer Association and The Forzani Group Ltd., are proud to announce a two-year sponsorship agreement with the Canadian Soccer Association's Mini Soccer Festival Program presented by BMO. The partnership incorporates all of The Forzani Group's corporate and franchise banners and extends exclusivity to The Forzani Group in the category of sporting goods and equipment.

The Canadian Soccer Association Mini Soccer Festival Program presented by BMO is an internationally recognized youth development program targeted at children under the age of eleven. The purpose is to introduce the sport of soccer through a fun-filled event for both children and their parents. The mini soccer festival is the largest national grass roots program in the country, connecting hundreds of clubs and communities, reaching approximately 200,000 children and their parents.

With soccer being one of the most popular recreational sports played in Canada and the sport with the most registered players in the country, The Forzani Group's nationwide group of businesses provide easy accessibility and affordability to soccer families for required equipment, apparel and complimentary products.

"This partnership supports our desire to strengthen our grass root commitments at all levels in Canada by helping bring kids the rewarding experiences that playing soccer achieves," stated Tom Quinn President of The Forzani Group. "With soccer's growing youth participation and emergent community involvement within Canada, this partnership with the Canadian Soccer Association offers strong support for our businesses."

"The Canadian Soccer Association is pleased to add The Forzani Group to its Partners Program" says General Secretary Peter Montopoli. "Our Partners provide integral support to the Associations long-term strategic goals, enabling the delivery of our national programs such as the Mini Soccer Festival Program. The Canadian Soccer Association is excited to partner with the largest sporting goods retailer in Canada."
