Sportwear with transmitter & wristwatch to receive signals
Science of clothing has evolved drastically, with many new and remarkable innovations in the field of textiles. New sports apparels have entered our lives that will monitor our heart beats and other vital signs.

Textronics Inc, has developed a textile based electrode system consisting of a sensor that can be incorporated into garments to monitor the user's heart rate, ECG, and other body activities.

These apparels are manufactured with textile based electrodes to receive biophysiological signals from the user. The garments are made from special conductive sensing fibers integrated into the chest area of the shirt or sports bra.

This conductive fabric moves with the body and is completely stretchable. These sensors are woven into the fabric and collect information about the respiration, heart rate, and core temperature, and sends it to a compatible wristwatch through a small GPRS embedded transmitter that is attached to a pocket in the garment.

They are priced between $50 to $59 USD. These garments are believed to be a positive replacement over chest straps which may slip, irritate the body, or become loose while at use.

People with heart problems, those who are undergoing rehabilitation, those who require constant monitoring and people with problems like sleep apnoea will be most benefited out of this.
