Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has targeted to improve the quality of apparel products in its member factories. In this regard, the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) has been launched by BGMEA in association with German Technical Cooperation (GTZ).

Production quality of around 20 factories will be improved in two stages under this program. Wastage of products can be reduced by producing more improved quality products, even if Bangladesh apparels are recognized for quality maintenance, said Mr. Abdus Salam Murshedy, BGMEA President, while speaking at launching ceremony.

QIP will provide assistance to improve the quality of products, attain better productivity, decrease operating costs and accelerate operating process. The association will provide help to their member factories in terms of both, productivity and quality, said the BGMEA chief.

It will also prop up the factories to achieve competitive stand in the market. It has been expected that good quality garment products of the country will allow it to fetch a better market share in the global market.
