Thousands of contract workers of the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, working in the garment industry which is going through depressing times, are waiting for the settlement of pending wage claims, said an advocate for the workers.
The Department of Labour submitted a list of 359 workers of mainly China and Philippines, who still have judicial review matters in court.
The Assistant Attorney General prepared the list after a court order granted two year transition conditional permits or "umbrella permits" to these workers.
