The Vietnam Garment and Textile Group (Vinatex) will begin construction of a garment factory in Bac Giang province's Son Dong district, on November 28, where around 47 percent of the population belongs to ethnic minority.

The factory will be set up at a cost of VND 42 billion and would generate VND 52 billion per year, with an output of 3.5 million units and employment for almost 1,000 local people.
The production and management facility of the factory will be set up on around 30,000 sq. metres, and the group will also build accommodations for the workers in an area of 7,000 sq. metres. The factory would start operations in April next year, coinciding with the group's 15th anniversary.

Vinatex will lend a hand to establish houses for families of martyrs and wounded soldiers living in poverty, as well as for old age and disabled people, in a bid to improve the living status of local residents in Son Dong. It will also offer scholarships to the students in garment and textile industry.
