On November 25, 2009, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Allura Import Co., Ltd, jointly announced voluntary recall on China-made girl's Hoodie. The recalled girl's Hoodie is made of velvet material in various colors with a front zipper.
The Hoodies were sold in stores of Burlington Coat Factory from October 2008 ~ July 2009 in the United States, priced at US $11 per piece. The number of the commodities being recalled is around 3,700 pieces.
Reason for the recall of the Hoodie is that the cord on the neck could cause danger of strangulation to children, which is in violation of federal standards for children's clothing, though up to now no incidents have been reported.
Towards this end, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised consumers to immediately eliminate the danger by drawing out the cord, or contact retail stores or Allura Import Co., to return the goods and get full refund.
