GLENMUIR stars as the Welsh reign in Spain
Dec '09
Glenmuir, one of Europe's leading golf apparel brands, sponsored the PGAs of Europe International Team Championship held at Roda, Murcia, in November.

Scotland-based Glenmuir supplied team shirts for 17 of the 24 teams of three that competed, with Wales - dressed in red Skibo shirts from Glenmuir's Men's Performance and Trend collection -exorcising the disappointment of being beaten in a play-off by Austria two years ago by winning the competition.

Glenmuir supplied shirts, sweaters and tops for all the home nations and 13 other countries – France, Germany, Poland,Spain, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Bulgaria, UAE, Croatia, Czech Rep,Holland, Slovakia, Belgium – all embroidered with each country's own PGA logo.

Captaining Wales to victory was a perfect finale to a memorable season for James Lee, winner of the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at Dundonald Links in the summer, who was joined on the victory rostrum by team-mates Jason Powell and Andrew Barnett.

Colin Mee, managing director of Glenmuir, said: "This is always an extremely competitive event and very much a flagship one for the PGAs of Europe. "Glenmuir is delighted to be involved and with the Ryder Cup coming to Celtic Manor next year, the Welsh really seem to have the bit between their teeth - winning the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship and now this high-profile team event."

England had led the Glenmuir and Calidona-sponsored tournament at the PGA-branded academy and course in Murcia, Spain, from day one but faltered in the final round. Their team of Paul Simpson, Jason Robinson and Paul Wesselingh posted two-under-par and had to settle for joint-second place with Switzerland.

Defending champions Ireland were left to rue what might have been after finally getting their game together in the final round and finishing in tied fourth place. Scotland's team of Mark King, Robert Arnott and Colin Gillies finished in 9th spot.

Glenmuir is one of Europe's leading golf apparel brands and for 2010 has introduced more than 130 individual product lines in a massive array of colours, designs and exciting new fabric technologies.

The company has chosen three fresh and contemporary colour palettes for Spring/Summer 2010: 'Blue Stone' combines deep, rich blues with white and subtle stone; 'Lilac Haze' contrasts vibrant raspberry and lilac with strong black, white and stone colours; 'Paradise Mist' features cool grey and pale blue tones
with white.
