Sport Chek, a corporate banner of The Forzani Group Ltd. Canada's largest retailer of sporting goods and proud partner of Hockey Canada is excited to host the National Junior Hockey Team player appearance at its Victoria Square Shopping Centre store in Regina, Saskatchewan.

As the world's interest shines down once again on the Prairies this Holiday Season for the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship; jointly hosted by Regina and Saskatoon, Sport Chek and Hockey Canada have teamed up to provide hockey fans a chance to experience part of the excitement first hand. Six players from Canada's National Junior Team will make a special appearance at Sport Chek's Victoria Square store located at 2223 Victoria Avenue East in Regina.

For years, Sport Chek has been synonymous with hockey in Canada and now the company is taking its support for Canada's beloved sport a step further. When consumers buy a Hockey Canada Jersey at Sport Chek before February 28th, 2010, Sport Chek will donate one dollar(i) to the Hockey Canada Foundation in support of grassroots programs ((i) up to $50,000).

"We are extremely pleased to become even more a part of the fabric of Canadian community hockey as we strengthen our position in Canadian Hockey at a minor hockey and grassroots level with our development of ongoing partnership programs with Hockey Canada," said Mark Hindman, VP Marketing for The Forzani Group Ltd. "The Hockey Canada jersey initiative is very important to us as it helps build community spirit and Canadian pride. We hope to see many Canadians showing their support by wearing their jerseys proudly."

"We are pleased to have Sport Chek support the Hockey Canada Foundation through this generous donation program tied to the sales of our jerseys. These funds will assist Hockey Canada in the development of the game at the grassroots level," said Bruce Newton, Director of Business Development and Licensing for Hockey Canada. "We are also pleased to have members of our 2010 National Junior Team visit the Victoria Square store to bring holiday wishes to Regina fans."
