Dollar Industries, a hosiery company hopes to achieve a turnover of Rs. 2.8 billion this fiscal. Moreover, it expects to reach to Rs. 3.5 billion by 2010-11. In 2008-09, annual turnover of the company was around Rs. 2.18 billion, informed Mr. Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director of the company.
The year-on-year increase in revenue generation is approximately 35 percent. At present, Dollar is the highest selling innerwear brand in the Middle East. The company has joined forces with German retail giant Carrefour and Lulus in the Gulf.
Currently, this hosiery firm has presence in Delhi, Kolkata and Tirupur. The company has ventured into power generation by installing two wind generation turbines, each of 1.25 MW capacity, in the state of Tamil Nadu. Besides, the installation of a unit to manufacture narrow woven fabric in Tamil Nadu is under process.
This manufacturing unit is being set up at a cost of Rs. 40 million for in-house consumption.
