Pitti Immagine Uomo 77 to unveil new look pavilion

WGSN the leading trend forecasting service for the fashion and design industry has been chosen as the preferred trend forecaster for the largest trade event dedicated exclusively to menswear – Pitti Uomo. The 77th Version of Pitti Immagine Uomo to be held at the historical Fortezza da Basso but will unveil a new look pavilion projected by the Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola.
This will be the third consecutive season that the Pitti Immagine Uomo trade event has chosen WGSN as the trend forecaster to provide menswear directions and trend analysis to it's growing international audience.
WGSN's Senior Menswear Editor, Volker Ketteniss will present research undertaken by WGSN's team of industry experts in the menswear sector and introduce the macro trends for the Spring/Summer 2011 season. Ketteniss will address WGSN Autumn/Winter 2010/11 trends that will be key for buyers when building collections for the season, including: Emotive, Inventive and Useful, and illustrating the WGSN design ethos for the season - Connection.
“For autumn/winter 2010/11 we are breaking tradition. In addition to our macro trends we are introducing one overarching message that we believe will define concept and product development for the next year.
We've called the theme Connection and we believe it is multidimensional, flexible and relevant to every design conversation you will have in the next 12 months. Creativity has never been more important than it is today, and at the heart of it all is the importance of connection.” Says Ketteniss.
Ketteniss joined WGSN from global brand Timberland, after consultancy projects for global clients such as Kenzo. He then moved to Fake London Genius designing premium denim and jeanswear collections.
WGSN adds Pitti Uomo to it's network of global trade partners, as the trend forecaster of choice and will present it's trend analysis on the 13th and 14th of January at 2.30pm.
