Chinese outdoor clothing market on high trajectory

More and more people are going outdoors in pursuit of health, fashion, leisure, nature and an environmentally friendly way of life, which has made outdoor textile consumer market in China maintain a 40 percent high-speed growth since several years.

According to industrial data, sales volume of China's outdoor market reached 3.8 billion Yuan in 2008. More and more domestic and global dealers of outdoor supplies and manufacturers are optimistic about China's domestic market due to strong market demand.

Outdoor textiles have wide varieties and uses, mainly including outdoor climbing jackets, assault gear, ski clothing, hiking shoes, mountain climbing hat, sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, protective gear, socks, and gloves etc.

Outdoor textiles have higher value-added and technology content, which demands high-tech textile technologies. It is reported that China has, but a few manufacturing enterprises producing outdoor sport textiles, whose quality is average, but prices are high.

However, many textile enterprises have being discouraged by the high technology and difficult production details of outdoor textile products. But in this, lies an opportunity for entrepreneurs to add value to their textile businesses, aver experts.
