At the opening ceremony of the “Turkish Fashion Break” held in Athens, the Foreign Trade Minister of Turkey assured Greece that, “With the experience they have gained from previous crisis, Turkish firms would help Greece in surmounting the economic crisis.”
The minister, Zafer Çaglayan said that this visit had come at a time when all countries had been hit badly by the economic turmoil, including that of Greece, which has taken a bigger hit, and they would share their experiences to help the Greeks weather the crisis.
Turkish Foreign Break has been organized by the Foreign Trade Undersecretary, Izmir Chamber of Commerce and the Aegean Garment Exporters' Union (EHKIB).
Giving details, EHKIB President Jak Eskinazi said that, RMG exports from Turkey to Greece stood at $186 million in 2009 and imports of textiles and garments from Greece reached $274 million.
