For many people the thought of handmade custom suits evokes the imagery of corporate big wigs and a hefty price tag but for Adam Gannon of Escondido he sees something quite unexpected…Value. Soon to be married in June, Adam and his Grooms men are spending the afternoon with their custom couturier, a private clothing designer commissioned just for them, fitting the suits they had ordered a few weeks back. “We looked around for a great deal on quality suits and really didn't find anything extraordinary.” States Adam.” When we found Requisite it was almost too good to be true. After doing the math, it turns out we are getting custom suits for about the same price we would have spent going off-the-rack.”

This is a sentiment Los Angeles based custom clothing design house Requisite hopes to hear more of. In a volatile market place for luxury goods many retailers and brand names are cutting back. Requisite is growing and expanding. “Our core principle is value. While custom suits may seem like a luxury item, between the cut of our suits, our quality, our service and bottom line… our pricing, it's hard to argue that there's a better deal out there” said Senior Designer Jeric Rivera of Requisite.” We really think San Diego will feel the same way.”

For the past few years they have made a name for themselves throughout Los Angeles and Orange County with their offerings of custom suits, dress shirts, tuxedos, blouses, over coats etc. for men and women at reasonable prices. While they are the first to admit that they are not bargain basement cheap, through the economic down turn they have seen triple digit percentage increases in sales. They feel that expansion into San Diego is a perfect fit for their boutique operation.

Said Rivera “San Diego is a very well dressed city. It's has a unique mix of laid back California style blended with a big city feel. I think our custom design approach will help San Diegans express their distinct flair.”

Requisites business model revolves around a custom design service in which they see each client on a one on one basis at their home or place of business. There a designer and the client go over needs, fabrics, and design preferences, after which measurements are taken and sketches are made. In a few weeks those sketches are tailored into a custom garment.

“For a long time a lot of off-the-rack designer brands really pushed their name rather than their products, it got to the point where the quality was not enough to justify the price,” sates Rivera. ”Consumers wanted more for their money. Our service allows you to get exactly what you want, exactly fitted to you.”

Groom to be Adam Gannon beams “The whole process was much easier than going to the mall. The designer came over he brought everything, was very knowledgeable and when it was ready delivered everything by hand, no crowds, no traffic, no sales people, all I had to do was be home.” He adds, “The finished suitis just incredible.”
