The South China region is being inundated by heavy rains for the past two weeks, which is very rare for the region. Right now, the brunt of heavy rains in the South has gradually started showing its impact on the various clothing wholesale markets in Beijing.

Due to the heavy rains, operating efficiency of many of the garment factories has gone down by 50 percent, due to which supply of summer clothing that too in required sizes has gone haywire and is also impacting prices of garments.

Owner of denim jeans manufacturing unit says, that the rain waters have entered his factory premises and have completely destroyed machinery, raw materials and finished goods. This is the case with many other clothing factories.

Another home-textile producer in Shenzhen says that restoring order and operating rates in his unit will take more than a month, which will seriously affect supplies for orders taken in previous months from his company.
