It seems that, the apparel producers in Ludhiana perhaps, have recognized the vigour of being unified.
The apparel producers here, being annoyed over the delayed payments made by major retail buyers, to whom they supplied merchandise, have united to form an organization, MSME Garment Manufacturers' Association of Ludhiana (MGMAL).
The apparel makers, who sourced the requirements of retail giants, were upset over the undue delay in payments by companies, which in turn were adversely affecting their financial strength.
Dinesh Gupta, General Secretary of MGMAL, said that, majority of the clothing makers in the city, who more or less form a part of the small and medium enterprises, have been agonized by the delay in payments by corporate.
He further stated that, the bigwigs are contravening the facilities and safeguards that are conferred upon the MSME Sector through the MSME Development Act, 2006.
