First DownEast Clothing store opens in Wyoming

High-style, low-price retailer DownEast Outfitters has expanded further into the Western United States by opening its first DownEast Clothing store in Wyoming. The new store, located at the White Mountain Mall in Rock Springs, offers the very best merchandise – with its full line of DownEast Basics apparel and a variety of well-known, national denim brands – at the very best prices.

Local shoppers are already flocking to the new store, which opened in early June, as it is one of the few retail stores in the region where many of these top brand names can be found. To celebrate the new opening with customers, DownEast will host an official grand opening event at the store, offering shoppers a chance to enter a “Shopping's More Fun with Your Girlfriends” giveaway.

New Wyoming Store Part of Retailer's Long-Term Western Expansion Strategy

“Our decision to open a store in Wyoming was motivated by two factors: first, our strategic five-year plan as a retailer to aggressively expand throughout the West, and second, our strong relationship with General Growth Properties, which owns the White Mountain Mall as well as many of the other malls where we have locations,” said Jonathan Freedman, Vice President of Apparel, DownEast. “Given that we've seen very high customer traffic and sales in just two weeks at the new Rock Springs location, we know it was the right strategic decision to offer our high-style, low-price concept to Wyoming shoppers. We look forward to a long presence in the area.”

General Growth Properties (GGP) is a publicly traded real estate investment trust that owns or manages over 200 regional shopping malls in forty-five states. It has a reputation for operating malls that embody a sense of community by integrating the latest in fashion-forward retail and lifestyle tenants with the best in dining and entertainment venues.

“DownEast's mission to make shopping a fun, guilt-free experience closely aligns with GGP's philosophy, which is that the malls are more than places to shop – they are also places to experience,” said Freedman. “When GGP encouraged us to consider White Mountain for our next store opening, we believed it would be a win-win situation.”

DownEast Clothing in Rock Springs Offers Giveaway for One Winner + Four Friends

To show customers its appreciation and celebrate the new store, the Rock Springs location is conducting a special contest, themed “Shopping's More Fun with Your Girlfriends”, that will run during an official grand opening week-long celebration from Friday, June 18, to Friday, June 25. Customers will have the chance to register in person at the store for the giveaway and also enjoy special grand opening promotions. The winner does not have to be present at the time of the drawing on Saturday, June 26, to win.

The new store is located in the White Mountain Mall at 2441 Foothills Blvd., off Interstate 80, in Rock Springs, Wyoming. It is located onthe same side of the mall as JCPenney, next to Famous Footwear and across from Maurice's. The store's new manager, Kelsey Deluca, has previous retail experience with such major brands as Old Navy and The Buckle and will manage the location's staff of six employees.
