RSWM take steps to meet growing demands for denim

As the demand for denim is witnessing growth, LNJ Bhilwara Group's textile company, RSWM Ltd, intends to invest around Rs 1 billion to double its annual denim production capacity to 28 million meters, within the coming three years.

The company official said that, amplifying production is the only measure to cope up with increasing demand for denim. He further added that, it may take three years to double the production.

At present, the company is targeting to operate in the high-end premium and also in the more value-added segment by the coming year. It sells textile brands like Mayur Suitings and now aims to upgrade its product level from premium to high-premium.

For instance, it intends to supply for Red Tape as it is a more value-added and high-end product of Levi's, since, the company is presently supplying for Levi's Signature brand, he added. RSWM has sales of Rs 15 billion including 10 percent sales of its denim products. As per estimates, the Indian Denim market comprises of about 590 million metres of textile.
