ContraBrand expanding nationally, internationally

For customers who want to break out of conformity, ContraBrand, a Southern California clothing label, is rapidly expanding into national and international markets. The line has been picked up by distributors in China, Korea, Australia, Germany and South America, who will have the products on shelves in 2011. This explosive launch into the worldwide stage will accompany a completely revamped web site, with the creation of new product lines soon to follow. Founder Andre Filip created the ContraBrand collection with an eye toward the customer who craves individuality—the guys and girls who want a unique style that expresses who they are.

“Our customers are non-conformists—they live their lives, know what they want and don't care what society thinks of them. We give our clients the freedom to be who they want to be wearing ContraBrand,” says Filip, who is also CEO of ELA Advertising, Filip Entertainment and Filip Vodka “It's not about fitting into one niche. This is an original line, and we want you to bring your own originality to it.”

Not wedded to any one sports culture, from hip hop to rockers to surfers and everyone in between—anyone who wants to audaciously flash some personality is wearing ContraBrand. It's about a lifestyle that refuses to be defined and can't imagine being boxed in.

Starting the company in 2009 with T-shirt offerings, Filip is developing new products to offer to clients worldwide: hoodies, sweaters, sweats and underwear. The new accessories line is also slated to include the latest hard-edge looks in hats, belts, socks, watches, wallets and rings. Women's tank tops and bikinis will round out the new ContraGirls section of the brand. Filip has a vision of his clients around the world expressing themselves in head-to-toe ContraBrand.

“Wearing ContraBrand is about making a bold statement. It says, 'I know who I am' in a daring way,” says Filip. “If you're done with the status quo and want your clothes and accessories to communicate that, wearing ContraBrand is your megaphone.”

ContraBrand by Andre Filip is a rebellious new action brand, featuring young men's and juniors urban clothing. The label's statement-making designs cater to the customers who want to make unique statements with their clothing– youth who are tired of the mainstream and looking for something different.
