After H&M, Zara and other international clothing brands, which have tasted the sweetness of success and expansion in China, the largest US clothing retailer; GAP has finally decided to set up shop in China.
"GAP expects to open four stores by the end of this year, of which, two will be in Shanghai and two will be in Beijing," said Yang De Ming, GAP's President for Greater China.
GAP may also choose to establish new stores in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Hangzhou around 2012. It is reported that GAP has launched a Chinese name in order to better adapt to Chinese market.
Each store covers an area of around 1000 square meters. GAP's flagship store in Beijing is located in Wangfujing Street. At the same time, GAP's e-commerce China portal, too will start-up synchronously.
