Sport Chek, Sports Experts and Hockey Experts, the sporting goods retail banners of The Forzani Group Ltd., are pleased to announce a five-year partnership with Canadian hockey superstar Sidney Crosby.

"As Canada's largest hockey retailer, the official sporting goods retailer of Hockey Canada and a proud partner of many Canadian NHL teams, we are beyond thrilled to welcome Sidney Crosby to our team," says Tom Quinn, President and COO of The Forzani Group Ltd. "Through his professionalism on and off the ice as well as his dedication and commitment to the game of hockey, Sidney is truly an athlete that all Canadians can look up to."

Crosby's partnership with The Forzani Group Ltd. also includes a commitment to working with The Power of Sport for Kids - a charitable initiative devoted to bringing sports, activity and play to underprivileged youth across the country.

"My time spent on the ice as a kid was me always dreaming of being able to play in the NHL one day," says Crosby. "I am fortunate enough to be able to have that dream come true and know there are other kids out there who share the same passion. Equipment is such an important part of playing the game for safety and performance. With this in mind, I am happy to be working with The Forzani Group and Reebok to provide the equipment with my name on it to the next generation of Canadian hockey players."

"Kids and hockey fans from coast-to-coast look up to Sidney and appreciate the many accomplishments he has achieved in hockey at such a young age, including his iconic goal in Vancouver earlier this year," says Quinn. "As we strive to get even more Canadians involved in an active lifestyle, our long-term partnership with an inspiring athlete of Sidney Crosby's calibre can only help motivate more young Canadians to harness their inner athlete."

As the exclusive retailers of Sidney's Reebok SC87 Signature Collection of sticks, skates, protective equipment and dryland training footwear and apparel, these three Canadian-owned-and-operated sporting goods chains will be offering an even greater selection of hockey equipment inspired by Crosby's outstanding career.

The Forzani Group Ltd. is Canada's largest national retailer of sporting goods, offering a comprehensive assortment of brand-name and private-brand products, operating stores from coast to coast, under the following corporate and franchise banners: Sport Chek, Sport Mart, Athletes World, National Sports, Sports Experts, Intersport, Atmosphere, Tech Shop, Nevada Bob's Golf, Hockey Experts, The Fitness Source, and S3.
