The government will provide between 3-20 percent subsidy to 17 export sectors in the current fiscal year. A guideline to all banks asking them to pay the subsidy against the exports for the period from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011, has been released by Bangladesh Bank.
The export oriented garment industry will get 5 percent alternative cash assistance, and some handicraft goods will enjoy 15 to 20 percent subsidy. PET bottle flacks and jute goods will be entitled to 10 percent export subsidy.
Leather goods will receive 15 percent assistance. 4 percent subsidy will be given against export of finished leather, and 3 percent against crust leather export.
