An insight into the Indian market and the opportunities for British designers and brands in the region will be explored in the first seminar organised by the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) at its new headquarters in London's Bloomsbury on Wednesday 27 October.
Three speakers have been lined up for the event: Jamie Tunnicliffe, export manager, John Smedley, who will look at the market from a style and product perspective; Peter Baker, ex Lee Cooper, AS Watson, Puma Sportswear, and immediate past President of The Australian, New Zealand Business Association of India, who will explain the retail structure; and Michael Pike, director, Brandspoke, who will share his experience of creating both clothing and retail brands, using examples from his client base that includes Future Group, India's largest retailer.
The afternoon seminar, which will be held at 3 Queen Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3AR, starts at 4pm (registration from 3.30pm).
