Nordstrom Rack will come at The Block in spring 2012

Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc announced plans to open a new Nordstrom Rack in Orange, Calif. The 35,000 square foot store will be located at The Block at Orange and is expected to open in spring 2012.

"We are very excited to move forward with our new store at The Block at Orange," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack "This is one of the area's top shopping destinations and a terrific opportunity for us to better serve our loyal OC customers."

Nordstrom Rack will be a part of the new development on the eastern side of The Block at Orange. Conveniently located off of I-5 and Highway 22, The Block at Orange offers nearly 100 name-brand outlet and value retail stores, restaurants and family fun entertainment venues. The Mills, one of Simon Property Group's (NYSE: SPG) five real estate platforms, owns and operates The Block at Orange.

"Nordstrom Rack will be a great addition to our already popular mix of outlet and value retail stores at The Block at Orange," said Gregg Goodman, president of The Mills. "We continue to add some of the best names in retail like Nordstrom Rack, which enhances the shopping experience enjoyed by Orange County locals and many area visitors."

Nordstrom currently operates three Nordstrom Racks in Orange County, at Metro Pointe at South Coast (Costa Mesa, Calif.), Brea Union Plaza (Brea, Calif.) and Laguna Hills Mall (Laguna Hills, Calif.). The nearest full-line Nordstrom store is located one mile west of The Block at Orange at Westfield MainPlace Shopping Center.
