MarediModa IntimodiModa - a successful event

This year again, the trade fair in Cannes has been chosen by Invista, one of the major worldwide producers of polymers and fibres, to directly inform customers and fashion houses about the exceptional performing features of Xtra Life LYCRAR, the innovative fibre conceived to bring garments superior shape retention and extraordinary resistance to sun tanning oils, UV rays and chlorine.

Through a very special dedicated area, arranged by Stylesight, the trend partner of the fair, and a subject-oriented path, all visitors have been able to see and touch the added values of Xtra Life LYCRAR whose evidence could be traced both in the associated company references as well as the "trends" indications, since pictures of them were taken and inserted in the macro-themes proposed by the American trend forecaster.

Among the many novelties proposed by this edition, a great success has been drawn by the initiative TEXTILE BANK, the very first, unique and worthy system for putting textile companies and garment makers in touch with the tailoring labs of some Italian prisons, for either recycling textiles and garments but, above all, offering a new opportunity to (women) convicts: grant therefore new life and a new chance to what would otherwise get lost without any further future.

The revenues from the sale of new, unique, exclusive, hand-made and "made in Italy" garments, accessories or furnishings will allow both the labs to become best equipped and the (women) convicts to receive a little compensation: not only will they learn a new creative work, but their social reintegration will be facilitated and collective charity initiatives supported.

The Link Awards 2010
The results of the second edition of THE LINK have confirmed the vertical growth of the project thanks to both the quality and the creative content of the works presented. Also this year, the talent scouting contest has been capable of involving the most creative students of the most famous 100 European fashion design and advertising schools and has called them together for realizing beachwear and underwear collections as well as theme-focused advertising campaigns.

The preparation and selection stages of the contest
have lasted one year and on the evening of the 25th, the winners' names have been proclaimed, even if, as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada has stated: "the very winners are all of you: the finalists, since your passion is the very soul of your creativity".

The date of the tenth edition of Maredimoda Intimodimoda has been made official: November 23-25, 2011 with quite important news in view of the tenth anniversary. The Cannes event will be anticipated by the Munich and Barcelona Previews which will take place in October.
