Arafa Holding, one of the largest apparel exporters of Egypt, recently revealed that it has entered into an agreement with the striking workers and they will begin their operations on February 19.
The company informed that it had kept its units closed in Tenth of Ramadan City till February 17 because of labor strikes.
Several Egyptian workers, encouraged by the anti-government oppositions that had overthrown President Hosni Mubarak, had taken the path of strikes in order to back their demands for better wages and working conditions.
In a statement released by the company, it has made an announcement that a fairly reasonable agreement has been entered with the striking workers and all matters have been thoroughly discussed.
It further added that both February 16 and February 17 would be given as fully paid holidays. Factory operations will begin from February 19.
The company also stated that it will keep its stakeholders updated about all important developments in conformity with the best corporate management and transparency practices.
