Two senior appointments at Marks & Spencer Reliance India

Marks & Spencer Reliance India Pvt Ltd, recently made an announcement regarding appointment of two senior personnel.

This new company is a joint venture between India's Reliance Retail and UK's leading retail brand Marks & Spencer.

As revealed in an official statement, James Munson has been appointed to serve as a Head of the company's retail and marketing division, while Maneesh Gaur has been appointed to lead the management of the property and projects to steer the programme for launching outlets of the company.

James, who holds 14 years experience in retail profession, has been associated with Marks & Spencer UK since 2006, and served as Store Manager of the Camberley store, the second biggest outlet of the firm in the UK employing more than 1,000 employees. He also served in position of a Commercial Manager for the foods and general merchandise segments of the firm.

Also Maneesh prior to joining the new firm was associated with India's biggest retailer Shoppers Stop for six years, and even prior to that he held several leadership positions across global retailers and the hospitality sector, the statement revealed.

Martin Jones, CEO of Marks & Spencer here said that, India with its sizeable population and economic growth furthers them with great opportunities and thus, it serves to be a key market for Marks & Spencer.

He further said that, James' and Maneesh's sharp business insight and excellent retail proficiency would greatly add value to their business and even aid their growth in the country.

Marks & Spencer inked this joint venture deal with Reliance Retail in 2008, and presently operates 19 retail outlets in India vending home wares, apparels and beauty products.
