BCB Inc., a Welsh company, has recently engaged the Seneca Falls based non-profit firm, Seneca Cayuga Industries, for producing a garment which provides protection to troops against roadside bombs and other blasts.
Seneca Cayuga which mostly hires disabled people would now manufacture the Blast Boxer in the US for UK's Wales based BCB Inc.
BCB, has been engaged in the production of intimate wear - Blast Boxer, with of Kevlar and a flame-resistant material, in the UK. These intimate wears provides protection to the lower abdominal and groin areas to the soldiers during an explosion, and even against other danger that they encounter on the field.
The Blast Boxer even serves as protective shield to guard the femoral artery, which constitutes a major blood vessel in human body. Severing of this artery may even lead to death within three minutes.
Seneca Cayuga has already been contracted by the Department of Defence for production of knitwear. Seneca Cayuga which functions as the vocational services department of Seneca Cayuga ARC, has five sites in Seneca and Cayuga counties.
