Ludhiana-based Duke Fashions is mulling major expansion plans. Duke is planning to lay special focus on the kidswear category, a segment which is largely dominated by the unorganized sector in India.
With the help of innovative strategies, the over Rs one billion turnover Duke, plans to grab a major slice of the lucrative kidswear Indian market. It plans to concentrate on the boyswear segment rather than the whole category.
Along with the focus foray into kidswear, it also mulling entering the sportswear category, explore new export markets and expand its retail presence. Currently, Duke Fashion products are available in over 250 EBOs, 3,600 MBOs and in some modern retail outlets.
Providing details of his expansion plans to fibre2fashion, Mr Kuntal Raj Jain, Director, Duke Fashions said, “The basic idea behind the focus is the emerging and growing market of juniors, coupled with advent of organised retail, which has led to this segment becoming very important”.
“In today's world, brands are creating specific sub brands / products to capitalize the consumer market and garner market share”, he added.
Informing about their strategy, he said, “We plan to introduce an innovative and user friendly product line, competitive and unique price mix, organised retail orientation and an effective customer relation management (CRM) system”.
