The problems of readymade garment exporters are now compounded because of undue delay in cargo movement at IGI Airport.
Mr Pritam Goel, Sr.Vice-President, Garments Exporters Association has expressed serious concern over the delays of 4 to 5 days in clearing of export shipments of readymade garments, which has hit the exporters very hard.
Mr Goel pointed out that the International market is highly sensitive and competitive and if shipments do not reach within the stipulated time, there will be lot of cancellation of orders and substantial loss to the exporters who are already facing hardships because of worldwide recession and low unit value realization from the overseas market.
Mr Goel urged upon the concerned Government authorities to issue necessary instructions to the concerned customs officers to ensure speedy movement of export cargo to avoid huge backlogs at the Cargo Complex.
