Oxeon is proud to introduce its groundbreaking + /-! variants of TeXtreme Spread Tow Fabrics through the initial +45/-45 type. These new versions of TeXtreme further broaden Oxeon's capability to offer optimized Spread Tow reinforcement solutions for enabling customers to reduce weight and improve performance of their composites parts.

The new fabric-forming technology has been developed by Dr. Nandan Khokar, R&D Manager of Oxeon, and his team. This proprietary innovation enables continuous-length production of novel fabrics by interlacing two sets of Spread Tow Tapes in different angles + /-!, for example +45/-45, +30/-60, +50/-25 etc.. These fabrics are innovative solutions for complementing the existing 0/90 version of TeXtreme to realize easily and quickly an optimized multidirectional reinforcement by plying.

Andreas Martsman, Vice President of Oxeon, says, “We are very pleased to introduce again another proprietary technology and innovative extension of the TeXtreme product line. We believe that this development brings a great value to our customers and to the composites industry as a whole.”

The novel TeXtreme Spread Tow Fabrics in + /-! variants bring all the advantages found in the successful TeXtreme 0/90 fabric. Improved mechanical performance, weight saving possibilities, good handling ability, flatness and surface smoothness are all combined in a continuous-length + /-! fabric. Its balanced construction eliminates problems associated with symmetric plying of NCF and UD. With reduced labor and material wastage, the production of composites becomes efficient.

“This innovation clearly shows that we have great reinforcement solution possibilities to offer for different applications. These new versions of TeXtreme Spread Tow Fabrics further broaden our product range and help us in our strive towards becoming the leading provider of optimized composite reinforcements”, says Henrik Blycker, CEO of Oxeon.

The first commercially available product of the extended TeXtreme product line, the +45/-45 variant fabric, will be showcased at Oxeon's Booth T23 in the forthcoming JEC
Composites Show, Paris.

Founded 2003 in Sweden, Oxeon has quickly established itself as the market leader in Spread Tow reinforcements. Use of these Spread Tow carbon reinforcements increases the mechanical performance of composite material products and reduces the weight.

Utilization of Oxeon's TeXtreme Spread Tow Fabrics and TeXero Spread Tow Tapes by manufacturers of advanced aerospace, automotive, racing, industrial and sports products in applications that have critical material performance requirements has affirmed the significance of Oxeon's ultra light materials.
