Good performance from TOM TAILOR Denim Female line

TOM TAILOR Holding AG benefited from the growth of its own stores again in the first quarter of 2011, achieving a year-on-year increase in sales of 35.5% in its Retail segment (e-commerce included).

The segment recorded like-for-like growth of 2.8%, in spite of the fact that Easter, which is traditionally good for business, is not until April this year.

Germany's textile retail sector completed the first quarter of 2011 on par with the previous year's level. TOM TAILOR therefore once again managed to outperform the average market growth rates. In particular the product lines Men Casual und Denim Female performed well.

"We are especially delighted with the good performance of our young fashion line TOM TAILOR Denim Female, as we see above average growth potential for this product line in our core markets,” commented Dieter Holzer, CEO of the TOM TAILOR Group.

At the end of March 2011, TOM TAILOR had 181 own retail stores across Europe (up from 158 stores at the end of 2010). TOM TAILOR plans to open a further 60 to 70 retail stores in the course of 2011, primarily in Germany and in its core markets Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries and France.
