KENTWOOL confirms that LPGA Tour rookie Shasta Averyhardt is the latest high profile player choosing to compete in its premium performance socks specifically engineered for golfers.

The 25-year-old, who recently became the first African-American to gain LPGA Tour status through Q-School, will compete in a range of uniquely colored KENTWOOL women's Low Profile, Low Profile Skinny and Tour Profile designs. She will also appear on the brand's website.

"As buzz about the game-enhancing comfort of our socks continues to grow, we're receiving more and more requests from top players on the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours," says KENTWOOL CEO and President Mark Kent. "Shasta's a tremendous competitor and we're thrilled to have her join our elite team."

Prior to turning professional in 2010, Averyhardt's stellar amateur career included victories at the 2004 Michigan Powerbilt Junior Tour Championship, the 2005 Golf Association of Michigan Women's Championship and the 2008 Michigan Women's State Amateur Stroke Play Championship. While attending Jackson State University, she was a four-time Southwest Athletic Conference champion and four-time All American.

Crafted using "WINDspun" air-infused technology and a proprietary blend of fine merino wool and high-tech fibers, KENTWOOL Golf Socks create an innovative, micro-climate system for superior moisture management, wicking and odor control. Each pair features enhanced cushioning at strategic micro-stress points along the foot to maximize comfort, increase energy levels, reduce the risk of injury and boost on-course performance.

In addition to Averyhardt, KENTWOOL premium performance golf socks are worn in competition by many Tour players, including Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Peter Jacobsen, Jonathan Byrd, Brendon de Jonge, Tom Gillis, Jane Park, Charles Warren, Kevin Johnson, Kristy McPherson, Sarah Kemp, Jenny Gleason, Meaghan Francella and Jenny Hong.
