Born with the quickness of a cheetah and heart of a lion, Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao embodies the spirit of a champion. As a 32-year old southpaw with a remarkable 52 professional victories, the “People's Champ” holds a deep loyalty to his Filipino roots and was officially proclaimed congressman of the district of Sarangani in the Philippines last year.

Raised in Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines, Manny began his boxing career at 14 years old and hasn't looked back since – winning eight different weight divisions over his career. A defining factor to Manny's success has been his relentless discipline and dedication to training. Boxers' physical and mental limits are stretched to the max after training that often reaches months.

As Manny prepares for the upcoming bout on May 7, 2011, Nike is celebrating the event with a product collection meant for the athlete and casual fan alike. In keeping to Manny's Filipino heritage, the t-shirt collection showcases inspirational elements with bold and classy graphics representing the “Fighting Pride of the Philippines” and his championship pedigree. Graphic elements reflecting Manny's personal life such as his beloved Jack Russell terrier dog, gym, love for darts, national pride and home city are incorporated into the t-shirt designs for fans to enjoy. The footwear is built for Manny's speed, agility and power while representing the pinnacle of Nike's training innovation with designs and materials fit for the intense training regimen of multisport athletes.

Nike Zoom Huarache Trainer Low
The Nike Zoom Huarache TR shoe is a great fit for the versatile athlete looking for a shoe with a supportive fit, great cushioning and durable traction.

The huarache was a popular woven sandal that originated in Mexico back in the 1930's and Nike designers have modernized the shoe with enhanced cushioning, flexibility and lighter weight fit for the modern athlete. The support, traction and durability are second to none, just like Manny's jab.

Engineered to the exact specifications of championship athletes like Manny Pacquiao, this shoe fits like a glove, with the lock-down comfort needed for training.
