English countryside inspires Gucci for baby & children collections

For Autumn/Winter 2011-12, the Gucci baby and children collections are inspired by the English countryside.
As on the occasion of last spring's debut, there are collections for babies (from 0 to 24 months) and for children (from 2 to 8 years old) though now with a much wider choice of colours, materials and styles.
Once again the Gucci baby collection uses the classic colours of pink and blue. But the palette also finds a fresh contemporary flair in the new hues of the season: soft grey, beige, orange and green. Similarly, materials continue to focus on softness and stretch for extra agility and ease of motion: wool, cashmere, super fine merino for the knits that in Autumn/Winter collection take on particular importance along with the goose down baby buntings and all-in-one suits.
Coloured socks and tights represent another new addition. For babies there are fine gift sets (romper, hat and bib) to pair with pure wool and cashmere baby blankets. In lovely pastel shades, they have iconic Gucci teddy bear and Gucci logo details that add an unmistakable mark of distinction. Meanwhile a feel for the English countryside comes through in the mackintosh raincoats, double breasted jackets, and tartan details. Mothers can enjoy “mummy's bags” - travel bags complete with Gucci style baby bottle holders - and wonderfully comfortable baby carriers.
As with the baby line, this season for the first time the children's collection presents dark green and orange hues as new variants to the House's signature colours.
A British country mood is evident in riding boots, jackets and duffel-coats. The macks and many warm bright little coats are all classics, as in the cashmere model for girls with iconic horsebit detailing.
Knitwear alternates between a sportier casual style and classic chic British mood and little gentleman looks. Rounding out the range of clothes and shoes this season is a wide selection of accessories: trolley bags, school packs, handbags and head bands for girls; hats, gloves and scarves in wool or cashmere, plus ties, for boys.
The children's collection also includes dressy outfits. Namely, tuxedos with bow-tie, cummerbund and black patent leather shoes for boys; an elegant velvet dress with strass-studded silk satin purse for girls.
