Pankaj Tibrewal, Chief Operating Officer of Pantaloon Retail revealed that, the firm proposes to hike the total number of its outlets in India to almost double, within next three years.
Tibrewal said this after inaugurating a new Pantaloon outlet spread on 43,911 sq. ft. in Coimbatore and added that, the company presently has 57 Pantaloon stores pan-India, and proposes to raise this number to 60 by June 2011.
Nitesh Gawri, Business Manager – South of Pantaloon Retail, stated that, the recently launched outlet is the 12th and the biggest Pantaloon outlet in the South.
South is an essential market for the company and hence it proposes to expand more in the Southern Zone, Tiberawal said and added that, presently the zone contributes around 20 percent of the company's total sales.
The company which is now growing at a rate of 35 percent per annum is to shortly open new Pantaloon outlets in Mysore, Vishakhapatnam and Kochi, and is hunting for sites in Salem, Vijayawada and Madurai.
