Among the major problems the apparel stitching industry faces in Kyrgyzstan, is availing credit at softer interest rates.
This was revealed by, Ryskul Babaeva - Chairman of Textile and Light Industry Union at a press conference.
She said, “Kyrgyzstan exports over 90 percent of its clothing output. The government should provide support in order that, apparel units are able to access credit at low interest rates.”
Among other issues, she said, “Currently contributions to the social fund amount to 27.5 percent of the salary. These rates need to be reduced”.
She added, “The government should also ensure effective implementation of labour polices, since a majority of the workforce compromises of women”.
