Speaking about its future plans Mr. Nikhil Mohan, MD, Blackberrys, “We will be looking at aggressive expansion going forward. Currently we have 124 company owned outlets. We would be looking at launching 40 more during the course of this year. Tier 2 towns are our clear focus and we will be looking at our growth coming in from these. Currently we are present in more than 900 MBOs and this number is bound to go up as we penetrate down to smaller towns. We will provide equal employment opportunities to differently able people.”
The Blackberrys wardrobe includes Dress Line Trousers, Khakis, and Shirts, Suits & Jackets. Blackberrys has a pan-India retail presence and covers more than 200 cities across India through approximately 850 up-market MBOs besides having 110 own brand stores at a pan-India level. Blackberrys has a presence in all formats of distribution namely, own stores, franchise stores, distribution/trade channel partners, and direct to dealer format. Blackberrys also has a presence in all major national chain stores – Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, Piramyds, Central and Westside.
In 2007, the company extended the Blackberrys brand to a line of accessories, completing the wardrobe with Blackberry belts, wallets, bags and knitwear. Its turnover for the financial year 2010 was over 250 crores.
