Phuoc Long & Lagardère sign deal for Elle brand

Elle as a brand has evolved from a classic fashion magazine with largest circulation all over the world since 1945, to a sophisticated stylist who adorns young people with up-to-date designs of latest trends, in the true fresh spirit of Parisians.

Lagardère Group was founded in 1992, from the merger of the 2 giants in communication (Hachette) and aviation industries (Matra). Lagardère once covered extensive range of industries, for now the group is largely focus on communication industries.

With 40 years of experience in Vietnam textile and clothing, Phuoc Long Investment JSC (PLI JSC), 25% bond owned by Vinatex, has proved its capacity and potentiality in developing Elle and Elle Homme in Vietnam market. PLI has complete ISO-standardized production system, from weaving, fiber spinning, dying, outsourcing and exporting, and lately franchising international brands in to domestic market. Under the award-winning leadership of Ms. Ho Thu Ha, and strongly supported by member companies of Vinatex, also PLI investors such as Phong Phu Group, Thu Duc House and a strong retail system, PLI is confident to step into more and more broadening market of youth fashion.

Lagardère has spent almost 2 years on market research and seeking for competent partner in Vietnam. At last PLI has proved its competence and met stern international requirements to officially obtain the license to design, manufacture and distribute (wholesale/retail) for Elle and Elle Homme menswear, womenswear, lingeries, at the same time completing the retail experience with Elle's extensive range of goods e.g. accessories, suitcase, bag, footwears…

Elle and Elle Homme flagship stores are expected to open in the third quarter of 2011 in Ho Chi Minh City, offering clothing goods such as menswear, womenswear, T-shirt, denim, dress, accessories, bag, suitcase, lingerie in order to create a diversified shopping environment, infused with Elle style: youthfulness, freshness, creativeness and elegance.
