For the three months ended December 31, 2016, revenue at Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba Group soared 54 per cent year on year to RMB 53,248 million or $7,669 million. Of this, sales from the ecommerce segment surged 45 per cent to RMB 46,576 million or $6,708 million and cloud computing revenue drove up 115 per cent to RMB 1,764 million or $254 million.

In the reporting quarter, net cash from operating activities amounted to RMB 37,416 million or $5,389 million and non-GAAP free cash flow stood at RMB 34,122 million or $4,915 million.
Net income for the quarter under review totalled RMB 17,157 million or $2,471 million and diluted EPS was RMB 6.94 or $1.00, while non-GAAP diluted EPS was RMB 9.02 or $1.30. (AR)
