UK-based Sedex, a leading supply chain specialist, has formally launched Sedex Advance, the next generation platform for ethical and sustainable sourcing, designed to meet the changing procurement needs of companies across the world, it announced on its website.

Fast, powerful and easy to use, Sedex Advance is a complete sustainable procurement solution, providing industryleading tools and insights to help buyers, suppliers and auditors implement their responsible sourcing programmes – all integrated into a single platform built using the very latest technology.

Sedex Advance has been developed in response to Sedex member companies' demand for improved supply chain management and reporting tools, to increase their understanding of global supply chain risks and address responsible sourcing issues, it said.

“We recognise that the needs of Sedex members around the world are changing, with buyers and suppliers facing a growing list of issues in global supply chains – from natural resource scarcity and climate change to human rights and child labour, all in an evolving regulatory landscape,” commented Jonathan Ivelaw-Chapman, Sedex CEO. “That's why we've built Sedex Advance, designed to continuously evolve and scale to help to meet our members' challenges and opportunities, now and in the future.”

Through risk assessments, supplier linking technology, real-time updates and in-depth reporting, Sedex Advance will help companies initiate, scale-up and manage each step of their sustainable procurement programmes, ultimately helping to drive sustainability performance and raise standards in global supply chains.

Sedex Advance will help companies of any size and supply chain complexity to work quickly and effectively, within a fast and powerful supply chain platform and organise and monitor their responsible sourcing programmes, with an easy-to-use dashboard.

It will also help protect their business and be proactive, using risk assessment tools to target actions, track and demonstrate progress, with integrated and enhanced real-time reporting and support growth internationally, by scaling to meet any size of supply chain.

Sedex Advance will also meet future challenges and opportunities, with continuously evolving and tailored functionality, it said.

Sedex claimed that with a rapidly growing membership – currently over 38,000 buyers and suppliers in 150 countries – representing more than 24 million workers worldwide, the company has deep and proven experience in helping clients to manage and improve supply chain standards. Following launch, the new Sedex Advance platform will continue to evolve, including new functionality for sharing carbon and agriculture data, offline audit functionality and many other features in the coming months, the supply chain specialist said.
