The collection consists of six pieces within women's wear. The pieces originate from Lindex Better Denim garments from previous seasons which have been redesigned and remade in Sweden. The original garments have been given new details or taken apart and put back together creating whole new products.
"We are so excited to launch our Re:Design collection! For this collection, we have looked at each original garment's possibilities and explored new circular ways of working to use fewer resources and prolong the garment's lifetime. Prolonging the life of great garments by redesigning them into new amazing pieces is really one more step towards a more sustainable and resource efficient way to produce great fashion," said Sara Winroth, sustainability manager at Lindex.
Re:Design is a pilot that Lindex has done in collaboration with Re: textile at The Swedish School of Textiles in Boras. Re:Textile is an organisation that develops design and business models for redesign and circularity in the textile industry.
"Our goal at Re:textile is to contribute to decreased consumption of resources through new design processes and business models and we are very happy to have done this project together with Lindex. Working with Lindex as a partner, with their strong fashion and broad target group, helps us to take redesign from niche to a larger market which can really make a difference," said Adrian Zethraeus, project manager at Re:Textile.
