Adidas signs contract with Belarus based clothing firm

Adidas, a world leader in sportswear has outsourced its requirements to a clothing production factory, located in Belarus. Slavyanka, which is a Babruysk-based garment factory, will henceforth, produce apparels for the leading global sportswear brand.

Director of Slavyanka, Teimuraz Bochorishvili told BelaPAN that work on the first batch will begin in a matter of 2-3 weeks. He said, “The contract is a challenge as the collaboration is the high-quality requirements and need for specialized equipment to create sportswear”.

According to him, Adidas conducted a thorough audit before signing the deal and the quality of the first few batches would be the key to the company's further business with Adidas.

Adidas conducted an audit which included safety of working conditions, respect for workers' rights, terms for payment of salaries, fire safety, environment, checked the state of toilets and availability of disinfectants, etc.
