‘New Las Vegas venue obviously appeals to exhibitors’ – Advanstar
May 30, 2009 (USA)

More than 100 leading brand and property owners, including Electronic Arts (EA), Konami, Skechers USA, and Liverpool Football Club will be exhibiting at Licensing International Expo 2009 for the first time, it was announced by Advanstar Communications, the organizer behind the world’s leading licensing event.

Held June 2-4 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, the event will bring together leaders of an $191 billion industry. The more than 400 exhibitors represent a wide cross-section of companies, from interactive and digital to toys and games; to art, fashion and entertainment; and home and housewares. The new exhibitors come from art, character, entertainment, consumer electronics and fashion.

“The new Las Vegas venue obviously appeals to exhibitors,” said Georgiann DeCenzo, executive vice president of Advanstar. “The move from New York provides opportunities for an expanded show floor, reductions in many back-end costs for exhibitors and the introduction of a number of exciting new show features.”

Premiering features include exhibitor show floor exclusives -- the 7th Avenue Fashion Pavilion, an area dedicated to the hottest in fashion and apparel, complete with a daily series of runway fashion shows; and the Interactive & Gaming Zone, a showcase of the most popular characters, properties and franchises in video gaming.

“We are very excited to be a first-time exhibitor,” said Patrick O'Brien, vice president of Electronic Arts. “With video games a dominant entertainment form, this is the right time to extend EA's brands and game characters to reach our fans through even more touch points, and the Licensing International Expo provides us with the means to do so effectively.”

These new exhibitors will be joined by many returning exhibitors, including The Walt Disney Company; Mattel Inc; Hasbro Inc; The Joester Loria Group; Warner Bros. Consumer Products; The Lego Group; Nintendo of America and many others. A complete list of new and returning exhibitors can be found at licensingexpo.com.
