According to an agreement signed between Cargill Cotton and Brazil Iowa Farms (BIF), the former will be exclusive cotton merchant, unit holder and strategic partner of BIF.
Cargill is one of the major non-public companies in the US. This agreement will fetch BIF marketing prowess and reduction in transaction risk in the cotton sales.
BIF has capital of $26 million before investment from Cargill with more than 300 investors in 28 states. BIF for several months was involved in negotiations to acquire a strategic partner.
Investment from Cargill Cotton was made under the existing operating agreements on the same basis as unit holders in the last offering, US $30,000/unit.
