India is one of the few countries in the world with the complete textiles supply chain including spinning, weaving, knitting, processing and garmenting. The entire value chain directly employs over 45 million people, and it has potential to employ another 3.5 million people by 2022. The event is part of the government’s various schemes and policies to fully utilize the potential of this industry. Over 15,000 visitors from various parts of the country and around 2,500 international buyers are likely to visit the 3-day exhibition showcasing manufacturing capability in the organised sector, as well as India’s rich heritage and modern diversified products like handlooms, jute, silk, cotton, wool and man-made fibre.
