Rado, the Swiss watch company celebrated a second year of its partnership with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with a billboard unveiling in New York's Times Square.
Rado created a call to action to visit website and enter the name of a loved one who has been affected by breast cancer. For every name entered through October 31, 2006, Rado will make a donation to the Komen Foundation in their honor.
Once unveiled, multiple electronic screens scrolled each name entered on the Rado website for one hour. Companies in Times Square that donated time on their electronic screens during the event included MTV, Cingular Wireless, Prudential Financial, and Toys "R" Us Times Square.
Times Square was filled with hundreds of survivors, members of the medical field, and supporters of breast cancer research who were excited to see their loved one's name in lights. Special guests including celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, LPGA golfer, Val Skinner, WNBA player, Becky Hammon and Bob Wexler, CEO of Tourneau -- The World's Largest Watch Store, were in attendance to introduce the program and unveil the screens.
For the past year, Rado, the Swiss watch company, has been a supporter of breast cancer research and awareness through its partnership with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
In 2005, Rado introduced the "Time to Fight" campaign in an aggressive effort to help save the lives of thousands of women and is committed to the battle against breast cancer by donating 10 percent of the retail sales of the Sintra Jubile Pink collection to the Komen Foundation for each product purchased by a consumer.
