Stahl India's Colour Previews at IILF
Stahl India's display at India International Leather Fair (IILF) will be largely based on the recently announced Colour Previews linking colour with the time of day.
It will remind us of the old days when breakfast, morning, afternoon, sport and evening called for a change of clothes. At the same time this scenario has elegant echoes in today's fashion world.
Visitors to the stand will be able to see leathers which meet the needs of the rapidly growing domestic fashion scene in India as well as looking towards those of Indian tanners and shoe makers' traditional export markets.
Calm, soft, quiet colours will reflect waking up in the early morning. Lunch-time brings bright and warm colours, the colours of the working day, full of life, intensity and energy. Arriving home for tea, colours take on a mix of the British and Japanese with geisha, tea leaves and water, mystics and spiritual tones, the shadows of early evening. Finally it is party time with shadowy coloured shades of the moon and the bright lights of the world of entertainment.
Fashion is at the heart of the display. With input from Stahl's Fashion and Design Studios in Italy, the leathers will all be made in Stahl's laboratories in India by Indian technicians using products available in India.
Today's fashion, looking forward to Spring and Summer 2013, will step back from traditional finishes to feature waxed, oiled, tumbled leathers with subtle two tones and gloss. Natural very high gloss vegetable character and tumbled leathers will feature strongly, as will snowy white waxy, repolishable “reactive leathers”.
There will be many very natural, ultra-soft finishes made with Stahl's BM Beauty Maker range of products. In this section, upgrading is the key theme, without sacrificing physical properties.
The technical side of leather production is not forgotten. There will be examples of all types of high performance leathers that have been sourced and processed through wet-end, dyeing, finishing and shoe finishing in Stahl India's laboratories. Leather from other parts of the world will enable comparisons to be made.
Most of the products used in processing and finishing will have been manufactured in Ranipet.
India International Leather Fair (IILF) will have on display the entire range of products relating to leather industry from raw material to finished products and auxiliary products such as finished leather; shoes; shoe components - uppers, soles, heels, counters, lasts; leather garments, fashion accessories, leather goods - wallets, belts, gloves, portfolios, hand bags; saddlery and harness; machinery and equipment and chemicals.
ITPO will organise India International Leather Fair (IILF) 2012, will be held from January 31 to February 3, 2012 at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai.
