Westwood to have CityTarget, (small-format) store

Target is pleased to announce that it will open a CityTarget store in the Westwood Market Place in Westwood, Calif. in July 2012. The 98,000- square-foot store will occupy the former Home Depot Expo space located in the heart of Westwood at 10861 Weyburn Ave.
The Westwood location is the second CityTarget store confirmed in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Target previously announced that it would open a small-format, urban store at Figueroa and 7th in downtown Los Angeles in October 2012.
CityTarget will offer commuters, tourists and urban dwellers the convenience of one-stop shopping with urban living essentials, on-trend fashions and exclusive designer collections. The store will open in 2012 and create about 200 jobs locally. Target currently has 58 other stores in Los Angeles.
“Target is thrilled to bring our newest store format, CityTarget, to this thriving Los Angeles neighborhood,” said John Griffith, executive vice president, Property Development, Target. “We look forward to providing our guests on the Westside with high quality merchandise at a great value and the exceptional one-stop shopping experience they have come to expect from Target.”
In addition to the two Los Angeles area CityTarget stores, Target will open small-format stores in Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco in 2012.
Target is committed to giving back to the communities in which it does business and has been a proud member of the Los Angeles community since 1983. To date, Target has completed 3 Target School Library Makeovers, totaling more than $600,000, in the City of Los Angeles.
Minneapolis-based Target Corporation serves guests at 1,767 stores across the United States and at Target's website. The company plans to open its first stores in Canada in 2013. In addition, the company operates a credit card segment that offers branded proprietary credit card products.
